The Tanner Bates Memorial Fund was established in 2021 to provide scholarships and educational opportunities for youth and teens in Saline County. Although Tanner was an accomplished athlete, he was most proud of his journey to recovery - a story he hoped to share as inspiration to others. His legacy remains his huge heart for helping those in need.

 

Established by his family and loved ones, Tanner’s memorial fund honors his achievements in baseball and his time served coaching youth. This scholarship will continue Tanner’s legacy by providing kids the financial assistance to pursue a college degree in a field of their choice.

 

In partnership with the EMpact One Foundation, a scholarship to honor his memory will benefit one Bauxite High School baseball player annually. This athlete and scholarship recipient must represent the values of kindness, dedication, and achievement on and off the field. 

 

Each spring, the Bauxite High School coach will nominate 3-5 athletes to apply for the scholarship based upon team leadership, academic commitment, and extracurricular or community engagement.
